In hands-on training classes you'll learn how to lead interpretive discussions, guide creative projects, and use various art media. For more information see the Training description below.
Group Training Classes
Group training workshops are held in September-October at Art in Action in Menlo Park, CA. Group classes are 3 hours, from 9 am to 12 noon. You will learn about the overall program for each level and each of the 12 projects for the program level. You will review the discussion questions, learn how to teach the lessons, and do several projects, practicing with media and techniques that make the project successful.

Clay Training Classes
Clay training is a group hands-on class offered at Art in Action in Menlo Park, CA. In this 2-hour session you will learn the basic clay techniques used in the Art in Action lessons. You will work with clay and do the project for your program level. You will learn tips from the experts about handling clay and how to dry and finish the projects. You will learn techniques for glazing and firing the clay.
Custom Training Classes
Custom training classes are held at your school and are available all year. Several Program Levels can be held simultaneously. New schools are encouraged to have the two part training: In the fall there is an overview, 6 lessons, and help with materials management and working with docent volunteers. The remaining 6 lessons are covered in the winter class, which includes clay training and how to mount and display student artwork for classrooms and art shows.
